The learning centre near Blantyre hosts events, delivers training and education and inspires individuals wishing to experience sustainable hospitality.

Key People

People-clement

Clement M’mame

Clement is our Community Trainings Coordinator and Co-Director and has an academic background and practical experience in community development. He passionately runs our educational site tours as well as different organic farming, permaculture landscape design and natural building related trainings both on- and off-site.

He has previously been coordinating field work in renewable energy projects, worked as an enumerator in longitudinal studies on pro-poor energy interventions and helped implement surveys under the Malawi electoral support network.

Martina Kunert

Martina is a co-founder and Managing Director of ecolodgy. A German national with backgrounds in social sciences, international development, social entrepreneurship, and permaculture design, she has been living in Malawi for more than a decade. Her passion is to inspire people to build, farm and live in harmony with nature again and to develop relevant and appropriate holistic solutions to the pressing needs of the majority of vulnerable people here, especially climate change impacts, the effects of long-term depletion of soils and over-dependence on external resources. She is also a Board member of a charity in Malawi focused on renewable energy.

Alex Evan-Wong

Alex chairs the Board of Advisors for Ecolodgy. A medical doctor with experience in Malawian hospitals, he was previously the director of the charity Microloan Foundation Scotland. Alex has a keen interest in sustainable business and is active in Rotary International.
