Introduction To Permaculture
03/05/2021 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
MWK20,000The concept of ‘Permaculture’ was introduced by Bill Mollison in 1978. It combines the terms “Permanent Agri-Culture”, but it is definitely far beyond just a landscape design approach or farming method. Permaculturalists is all about creating ecologically sound, regenerative and self sustaining, resilient spaces in a holistic and integrative manner.
Permaculture design involves mutiple aspects like soil building and agriculture, water harvesting, renewable energy, natural building, agroforestry, waste management, animal systems, appropriate technology, sustainable householding…
Bill Mollison has left behind a legacy with his “Permaculture Design Manual”, which up to date forms the basis for the very comprehensive Permaculture Design Courses (PDC) and the certification of Permaculture Teachers.
For those who would like to live a more sustainable and ecologically balanced life, but would first like to get an orientation of how permaculture may fit into their lives before investing much time and money into it. This 2-days intense course offers a first overview of the principles, methods and practicalities of permaculture design.
The course is based on many examples, but also practical local applications that may inspire participants to start integrating some of the ideas straight after leaving home from the course. Participants will be going through a mix of presentations, group discussions, site walks, practical exercises and Q&A sessions. This course is in English.
The cost contribution of MK40,000 per person includes your dedicated trainer team, two homemade snack breaks and lunch per day, drinks, course confirmation and the invitation to join our new course alumni network for further exchange and support (optional).
